Preparation tips for gate exam

 

1. Determination:
   

   One must have strong will power to get the good rank in GATE. When we say good that means you must aim for All India Rank 1. Always dream big.

2. Goal:
   

   Set the goals. Goal setting plays a very important role. Anything without goal is meaningless. Goals gives directions. Set SMART goals i.e. it must be Specific , Measurable , Achievable , Realistic and Time bound.

3. Plan:
   

   A plan without work and a work without plan , there is a failure. You must plan your studies. The plan could be yearly , monthly , weekly and daily. Understand how much syllabus you need to cover and how much time you have. Allocate the time properly. Share your plans with your friends , teachers , seniors , parents and get their suggestions in improving your plan. Let everyone knows that you have plan for your preparation. Create a positive environment around you , which will help you. Plan should not be rigid, it must evolve as you go on preparing.

4. Execution:
   

   Go step by step , conquer every concept , every para , every chapter and every subject. You must work hard on your plan. GATE is easy , if you work hard you will definitely get a good rank.

5. Practice:
   

   There is a saying "Practice makes man perfect and women too :)". So you must spend enough time in mastering the concepts. Remember that the amount of time you spent will be directly proportional to your success in GATE.

6. Test Series:
   

   You must solve previous year question papers. Over the years nature of questions remains same. Solve chapter-wise questions. Collect question papers from your seniors , web and you may would like to buy in the form of hard copy. Solving test will help you in understanding your strengths and weaknesses. You must work on your weaknesses , those are areas where you should improve upon.

7. Right Books:
   

   Your preparation must start with standard books. You may refer to list of books in app. Standard books will help you in mastering the concepts.

8. Concept Clarity:
   

   You may recite the formulae but anything you try to remember without understanding , will not be remembered for long. So first you must emphasize on clearing the concepts and then try to remember.

9. Syllabus Coverage:
   

   Try to cover entire syllabus.

10. Technical Discussion with Friends.:
    

    Help your friends in solving the problems. If you yourself do not understand ask for help
